Emergency Preparedness

October 10th, 2008 by carpnews

On Beautification Day the Emergency Preparedness Team will also change out the emergency water supply we have stored at school. We need volunteers to help get the barrels out of the bin, dump them, clean them, and refill them. There are about twenty 55 gallon drums, so we need your muscles! Oh, and if you have a dolly you can bring, that would help tremendously.
Please contact Nora Doyle at noramdoyle@gmail.com if you can help us out with this very important task.

SSC / LEARN COUNCIL ELECTIONS

October 10th, 2008 by carpnews

The SSC/LEARN Council will hold elections for one new parent representative at Back to School Night on October 14, 2008. This representative will be elected by school-wide ballot. The other parent representatives were elected last year and are in the middle of their two-year term. The SSC/LEARN Council is composed of 14 representatives, including administrators and representatives from the PTA and the PFC. The council’s primary purpose is to focus on the establishment of local policy, planning, direction and involvement on various issues impacting our school community and wherever appropriate, to implement action plans. We make every effort to work in concert with the other school organizations when our agendas overlap. As a result, we can provide a forum for discussion and decision-making in a number of areas, such as:

  • Staff development within District guidelines
  • Student discipline
  • Schedule of school activities, events and special schedules
  • Review of certain designated budgets which includes guidelines for use of school equipment, i.e. copy machines

Show Off Your Mug!

October 3rd, 2008 by carpnews

Can’t get the coffee stains out of your old travel mug? Get a cool new one as a thank-you gift from the Annual Giving Campaign. Just make your contribution by November 14 and this handy gift could be yours while supplies last. Remember, the suggested donation is $600 for one child, $900 for two… but we’ll take more if you can give it. Every contribution makes a difference - our goal is school-wide participation. And every dollar you donate is tax-deductible. Considering the cost of private school, this is the most valuable mug you’ll ever own!

Your contribution helps pay for your children’s enrichment programs such as Music, P.E. and Science Lab. If you did not receive your Annual Giving Campaign packet, please pick one up in the office. Donations can be dropped off in the office or mailed in the self-addressed envelope included in the packet. For more information, please contact Ruth Goodman at ruthgoodman789@gmail.com or Lisa Libatique at lisalibatique@gmail.com.
